Whoa, just read Kotaku, and according to them the 3ds has a secret, which is the local multiplayer. Just by pressing the shoulder buttons, something will appear on lower right corner which looks like a message balloon. Press Y to switch players. The only thing that is wrong on the news is that they said on how to change your player state via local multplayer is a secret, which is not. It is written on the instruction manual, and I bet they didn't read the manual first. It is said that using L + R + Y buttons will change your state on multiplayer game.
